Gayle served as Executive Vice President at YSI Inc, responsible for sales, marketing, strategy and business development.   She was a member of the YSI Board of Directors for 6 years.   During this time the company experienced above market growth rates and emerged as a leading global supplier of analytical instrumentation for water and life science applications.   The company was purchased in 2011 by Xylem, a $4B company based in New York.   

Following the acquisition Gayle served as Vice President of Business Development & Strategy for Xylem Analytics.  Her responsibilities included the development of an annual 5 year strategic plan, leadership of the strategic marketing function and new business growth through acquisitions and partnerships.   

Upon retirement from Xylem in 2013 Gayle has been active in the local start up community providing mentoring and angel investment for new companies.   She has served on the Board of The Entrepreneur’s Center for several years.    

Other Board roles include Chair-Parallax Advanced Research Corporation, Lion, a supplier of equipment and protective clothing to the firefighter market, UES, a research and development company, whose primary business is supporting the research needs at AFRL, Brixey and Meyer, a Dayton based Accounting and Business Services firm and Hohman Plating, a provider of metal finishing and coating services.    

Gayle is a Hoosier with an MBA from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.   She and her husband Tom Henighan, a graduate of the University of Dayton, enjoy all the amenities of the Dayton region including the Arts, UD basketball and biking.   They have one son, Tom, a graduate of Ohio State and Stanford, who resides in the San Francisco area.
