The North Texas Semiconductor Institute (NTxSI) at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) has partnered with the Wright Brothers Institute (WBI) to help UTD accelerate semiconductor innovation, entrepreneurship, and workforce development in North Texas, and the United States. With broad military and space applications, UTD's Center for Harsh Environment Semiconductors and Systems (CHESS), lead by Dr. Manuel Quevedo-Lopez, leads cutting edge-research to advance fundamental understanding of materials and devices for harsh environments.
Key UTD Semiconductor Initiatives:
Build a multi-use semiconductor facility/advanced prototyping hub to provide cost-effective access to prototyping equipment for start-ups, researchers, and government with secure capabilities
Leverage expertise in innovation and entrepreneurship to assist semiconductor start-up companies thrive in this ecosystem
Lead cutting edge-research to advance fundamental understanding of materials and devices for harsh environments.
Lead a consortium of industry and academia to expand workforce development programming.
