This webinar is designed to inform businesses in the Advanced Air Mobility, Aerospace & Defense, and Automotive Manufacturers Sectors on Key Industry Needs of the Department of Defense and Federal Government. The presenters will aim to educate attendees on key compliance needs and certification pathways through DOD’s BlueUAS and DOD & AUVSI’s GreenUAS Certification Programs.

Blue UAS
The ever-evolving development of commercial UAS can benefit DoD and government users as commercial systems are updated and improved on a far faster timeline than traditional Programs of Record (POR). The Blue UAS effort, started in 2020, is a holistic and continuous approach that rapidly vets and scales commercial unmanned aerial system (UAS) technology for the Department of Defense (DoD). This program consists of two lines of effort that curate, maintain and improve a robust roster of policy approved commercial UAS to meet the diverse needs of DoD users. The military applications of these systems become more apparent each day through observation of their tactical capabilities in contested battle spaces.

Green UAS
In partnership with its members and other key industry stakeholders, AUVSI launched the Green UAS certification to provide expedited and streamlined vetting of commercial and non-defense drone technologies to support end-users’ confidence when procuring systems and to bolster the drone and component manufacturing base for secure drone systems. Green UAS Certification builds upon the Blue UAS program to specifically serve the commercial and non-defense drone community with access to the same level of verification and certification for cybersecurity and NDAA supply chain compliance. Green UAS compliant drones that have a DoD customer/sponsor willing to sponsor and fund a DoD Authority to Operate (ATO) may have the opportunity to transition from the Green UAS cleared list to Blue UAS cleared list.
