Parallax Advanced Research’s Launch Dayton team, which works to support and connect entrepreneurs across the Dayton region to business-building resources, will move into their new office in The Hub at the Arcade this week.
“Our moving to a central location in the heart of Downtown Dayton’s startup ecosystem and our neighboring with other entrepreneurial-support organizations at The Hub is going to allow out team to better help entrepreneurs realize their dreams,” said John Owen, Parallax program manager for Launch Dayton.
The Launch Dayton community believes everyone, regardless of their background, should have the opportunity to determine their own economic prosperity and therefore exists to support and inspire all Daytonians who are building businesses. Launch Dayton partners collaborate to build an easily accessible environment, run high-caliber programming, and connect a network of champions, mentors, and resource providers.
Parallax is a proud partner in the Launch Dayton community. Parallax exists to deliver innovative research and provide technology, human and business solutions via The Science of Intelligent Teaming for government, industry and academic clients across the country. Parallax’s Launch Dayton team was established in 2016, originally operating as Dayton Tech Guide. The team manages communications for the Launch Dayton network, as well as several entrepreneurial support programs, including:
- Early Risers Academy: a free, 10-week business-building boot camp
- Early Risers: a free, monthly pitch event for early-stage, scalable startups
- LaunchPad: a monthly networking and learning opportunity, returning this summer on The Hub at the Arcade
- Launch Dayton Startup Week: an annual, free conference on all things entrepreneurship in the Dayton region
- Launch Dayton Mentor Network: a newly launched program designed to pair existing business owners with experienced business leaders to achieve specific business growth goals
Parallax’s Launch Dayton community impact
Since the start of 2020, Parallax’s Launch Dayton community impact involved:
- Serving over 100 entrepreneurs; 56% minority, 54% women, 12% veteran
- Sharing 136 entrepreneur success stories
- Serving 1,500 attendees at virtual community events
- Garnering 1,800 ecosystem subscribers
Parallax’s Launch Dayton team is committed to building an inclusive entrepreneur ecosystem in which the demographics of the founders accurately represent the demographics of the wider region. In 2021, the team is striving to see 50% women and 50% minorities represented across event stages and programming.
