BEAVERCREEK, Ohio — Parallax Advanced Research announced the appointment of four distinguished leaders to its Board of Directors, strengthening the organization’s governance and strategic depth across defense, intelligence, research, and acquisition communities.

 

Tim Sakulich and Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Ron Burgess joined the Parallax Board effective Dec. 16, 2025. Dr. Dan DeLaurentis and Brig. Gen. (Ret.) Luke Peterson will join the Board effective March 1, 2026.

 

“These leaders bring decades of experience at the highest levels of defense, intelligence, research, and innovation,” said Dennis Andersh, president and CEO of Parallax Advanced Research and president of the Ohio Aerospace Institute. “Their collective insight will help guide Parallax as we continue to scale mission-driven research, strengthen partnerships, and accelerate the transition of critical technologies to government and industry stakeholders.”

 

Tim Sakulich

Tim Sakulich serves as a senior science and technology executive with extensive experience leading large-scale defense research enterprises. Most recently, he was executive director of the Air Force Research Laboratory, where he oversaw a global workforce of more than 6,000 personnel and a multibillion-dollar science and technology portfolio supporting Air Force and Space Force missions. Sakulich joined both the Parallax Advanced Research and Ohio Aerospace Institute Boards on Dec. 16, 2025.

 

 

Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Ron Burgess

Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Ron Burgess is a retired U.S. Army lieutenant general who previously served as director of the Defense Intelligence Agency and acting principal deputy director of national intelligence. Following his military service, Burgess held senior leadership roles at Auburn University, including executive vice president. He joined the Parallax Board on Dec. 16, 2025.

 

 

Dr. Dan DeLaurentis

Dr. Dan DeLaurentis is executive vice president for research at Purdue University and a nationally recognized aerospace engineer and research leader. He previously served as chief scientist for the Department of Defense Systems Engineering Research Center and has led major national security and systems engineering initiatives spanning academia, government, and industry. DeLaurentis will join the Parallax Board on March 1, 2026.

 

 

Brig. Gen. (Ret.) Luke Peterson

Brig. Gen. (Ret.) Luke Peterson retired from the U.S. Army in 2024 after nearly 35 years of service, including senior acquisition and program executive roles overseeing complex, large-scale defense portfolios. His experience spans systems acquisition, modernization, and sustainment across a wide range of Army programs. Peterson will join the Parallax Board on March 1, 2026.

 

The expanded Board reflects Parallax’s continued focus on mission integration, research excellence, and national security impact.
