Cleveland, Ohio– Dr. Mrityunjay Singh, Chief Scientist of the R&D Division at the Ohio Aerospace Institute, which is wholly affiliated with Parallax Advanced Research, is an eminent specialist and global leader in the field of advanced materials and manufacturing technologies. On May 30, 2023, Dr. Singh was honored with the "NASA Outstanding Public Leadership Medal,” which is a prestigious accolade awarded by NASA to non-government individuals for their notable leadership accomplishments that have significantly influenced the NASA Mission. Dr. Singh's extraordinary contributions to the field of high temperature materials technology were recognized and honored by NASA at the awards ceremony which took place on May 30, 2023, in Cleveland, Ohio. In addition to his NASA Award, on June 2, 2023, Dr. Singh was awarded an honorary doctorate from AGH University in Krakow, Poland in recognition of his remarkable scientific achievements in modern engineering ceramics and his significant contributions to the global ceramic community.

NASA Outstanding Public Leadership Medal  

Dr. Singh has revolutionized the aerospace industry through his groundbreaking work in ceramic matrix composites (CMCs), spanning over three decades. His contributions have greatly impacted NASA programs and enabled the integration of advanced materials into aerospace systems. Dr. Singh's pioneering efforts extend to various areas, including CMC development, space shuttle repairs, thermal management systems, multi-material integration, environmentally friendly manufacturing, and 3D printing/additive manufacturing. His expertise and leadership have influenced materials research strategies and engineering, inspiring future generations in the field.

Honorary Doctorate from AGH University 

The honorary doctorate (Doctor Honoris Causa) from AGH University–a prestigious technical university founded in 1913–recognized Dr. Singh for his pioneering contributions in the development and implementation of advanced ceramics and composites in aeronautics, energy, and space exploration systems. The university held an International Symposium on Challenges in the Development of Ceramic Materials in his honor. AGH University has previously awarded honorary doctorates to distinguished individuals such as Pope John Paul II, Nobel laureate Dan Shechtman, Elon Musk (CEO of Tesla), Lakshmi N. Mittal (Executive Chairman of ArcelorMittal), N. R. Narayana Murthy (Founder of Infosys), Prof. Alberto Sangiovanni-Vincentelli (co-founder of Cadence Design Systems and UC Berkeley), and Prof. Lindsay Greer from the UK, among others. Following the honorary doctorate award ceremony, Dr. Mrityunjay Singh delivered a master lecture titled "Materials, Society, and Sustainable Development," showcasing his expertise and vision in the field.
