The Ohio Aerospace Institute (OAI) is pleased to have a diverse membership that represents a wide range of individuals and organizations dedicated to advancing the aerospace industry. We’re spotlighting these members to share their industry contributions and highlight their innovative work. In the OAI spotlight this month is Alloy Precision Technologies, a ten-plus-year OAI member located in Mentor, Ohio, and the premier growth partner in delivering high-quality bellows, flexible sealing assemblies, precision machining and welding services, thin wall tubing, and other highly engineered products for aerospace, oil, gas, and industrial applications. The OAI team sat down with Alloy Precision Technologies’ Marketing Manager, Tamara Seghetti, to discuss the company’s latest achievements and current projects.

Your company is involved in quite a few areas of precision engineering spanning multiple sectors. Do you have a notable event or achievement of which you are particularly proud?

Seghetti: We’re particularly proud of having developed our proprietary hydroforming process that enhances precision and ensures each convolution shape is perfect along the profile for longer lifespans and superior performance. We are a lighthouse leader in smart manufacturing and driving innovation across our operations. Additionally, becoming qualified to work with the aerospace and defense sector, through certifications (such as the) National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (Nadcap)* and AS9100**, has been a significant milestone, reflecting our commitment to the highest industry standards.

*Nadcap (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) is an industry-managed approach to conformity assessment of 'special processes' that brings together technical experts from prime contractors, suppliers and representatives from government to work together and establish requirements for approval of suppliers using a standardized approach. Unlike traditional third-party programs, Nadcap approval is granted based upon industry consensus.

**AS9100 is a widely adopted and standardized quality management system for the aerospace industry. It was released in October 1999, by the Society of Automotive Engineers and the European Association of Aerospace Industries.

What value has Alloy Precision Technologies found from being an OAI member?

Seghetti: There are several valuable benefits, such as networking opportunities with industry professionals, obtaining insights into industry trends and standards training. OAI helps us stay competitive and informed, and (offers us opportunities to) attend informational seminars to advance our knowledge in the aerospace and defense sectors.

What is next on the horizon for your company?

Seghetti: Alloy Precision Technologies will continue to stay at the forefront of innovation and focus on enhancing our capabilities through advanced equipment and technologies. This proactive approach will enable us to respond swiftly to industry demands and maintain our reputation for excellence.
